How to set up and manage payment options

Payment Method: Stripe Connect

Shelf Indulgence uses Stripe Connect to process all royalty payments. Stripe is a secure, industry-leading payment processor trusted by millions of businesses worldwide.

How It Works

  • Connect your Stripe account in Account Settings
  • Stripe deposits payments directly to your bank account
  • Available in 40+ countries worldwide
  • Supports local bank accounts and currencies
  • No fees deducted by Shelf Indulgence (Stripe's standard fees apply)

Supported Countries

Stripe Connect is available in most countries including:

  • United States, Canada, United Kingdom
  • Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore
  • Most European Union countries
  • And 30+ additional countries

Setting Up Stripe Connect

  1. Go to your Account Settings
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure portal
  4. Create a new Stripe account or connect an existing one
  5. Provide your bank account details to Stripe
  6. Complete identity verification (required by Stripe)
  7. Return to Shelf Indulgence—you're all set!

warningSet Up Before First Payment

Make sure your Stripe account is connected before your unpaid balance reaches $5. Payments cannot be processed without a valid Stripe connection.

Payment Timing

  • Payments issued monthly when balance exceeds $5
  • Stripe processes payout within 2-3 business days
  • Funds appear in your bank account 3-7 business days after payout
  • View payout history in your Stripe dashboard

International Authors

Stripe Connect works worldwide:

  • Local bank accounts: Connect your bank in your own country
  • Currency: Receive payments in your local currency (if supported by Stripe)
  • Tax forms: May require W-8BEN form for US tax purposes
  • Stripe fees: Standard Stripe Connect fees apply (varies by country)
